Food & Wine Tours
You probably didn't know this, but Romanians love eating and drinking!
Benefiting from rich, fertile lands and a strong rural lifestyle and history, Romanian cuisine is dominated by products and dishes made with peasant (farmer) food: garden vegetables, livestock meat, dairies, nuts and fruits, all transformed into delicious dishes such as sarmale, _ciorba_ (sour soup), stews, cured meats, matured cheeses, fruity cakes or jams! What's more, Romanian gastronomy drew heavy influences from its neighbours, particularly Hungarian, Turkish or Slavic, so you will find some similarities or even familiar adaptations.

Reviews about Food & Wine Tours
We had a great time on the food tour. The food we ate was SO delicious, and we felt like we saw normal Romanian places. (It's such a touristy thing to say, but it's true.) Mihai was super knowledgeable and relaxed, and we appreciated the effort he putting in to making sure we had a great experience.
This was a terrific tour - great guide, interesting conversations and good food. The tour took us to parts of Bucharest that are off the tourist trail. Highly recommended.
Vlad and his wife were lovely people! It was a pleasant way to spend a morning. Vlad took us on a moderately hard (walking uphill for about an hour) up to the top of Mount Tampa. We then walked down and passed through a farmer's market to pick up some cheese. It would have been nice if we had a little extra time to explore the market, but I think he was trying to be conscious of our time since we had a train to catch. Vlad's wife cooked a very large and delicious 3 course lunch, and they shared some homemade cherry alcohol. They were able to cater to me (a vegetarian) and my daughter who is not a vegetarian. It was a really nice time.
I really enjoyed this opportunity to try different beers at places that I wouldn't get to by myself. Kudos to Anita who organises the tours and to Andreea who was the guide on this tour. Thanks also to Romanian Friend where I booked the tour. They have been really helpful and unlike another site where I booked a couple of day trips, Romanian Friend confirmed dates, etc with the tour operators before confirming rather than canceling at the last minute.
