We had a brilliant time, our guide, Nick, went out of his way to include extra's that were not in the original schedule to ensure we got the maximum experiences of Romania from the time we had available. His knowledge and commentary on everywhere we went really enhanced our understanding and appreciation of all the amazing places we visited. As we prepare to leave, our favorite memories were: Pele's Castle, Bear viewing, Manastirea Barsana, Village Breb and the Horse & Cart Ride around it, Sighisoara, Brasov, and Viscri. Isti did a nice job leading us through the valleys, and up and down the mountains. The hike was moderate, with slightly challenging uphill areas at times, but he was great about slowing down when we needed it. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and lunch was great. Bring snacks because we hiked for almost 4 hours before getting to our lunch stop!

The tour was very well organized. Our guide Leontin was very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat trip in the Danube Delta was great, and we were able to observe many birds. The tour in Constanta was also very interesting. We can only warmly recommend Romanian Friend.

Our tour guide was very personable. He learned everyone's names and where they were from. He was very knowledgeable about the castles we visited and the places we passed through. We were allowed time to eat wherever we wanted at Bran Castle, and to decide as a group the route we would take back to Brasov. I appreciated that he stopped the van so we could take the best iconic photo of Bran Castle in the distance on the hillside! Our guide obviously loves his job and he made our experience richer because he does love to show off his country.

Our trip to the Poenari Castle & Transfagarasan Highway on August 2, 2024 was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Our driver Don and accompanying guide Elena were extraordinary in their warmth and making us feel comfortable. From 8 am until 8 pm we were guided by experienced Romanians who were skilled at providing us with the local history, facts and sights and sounds on this great tour. We were moved by the gravesite visits of Romania's monarchy as well as the long and winding road of the Transfagarasan Highway. On our way on the highway we encountered at least 5 bears on the side of the road. This trip was well worth the cost and we highly recommend that you take this tour.
