Moments to expect
The impressive Turda Salt Mine
This 2,000 year old mine has been in use since Roman times - but is now an incredible natural attraction turned amusement park! The beautiful light installations make the tunnels and huge grottos spectacular, and there are lots of things to do inside the mine. And, the best part? Breathing salty air is good for your lungs!
Hike in Turda Gorges
These two impressive rocky cliffs look like they're about to collide. Instead, they create a closed off ecosystem that became a natural reserve for hundreds of plants, insects and small animals. All while offering spectacular views! It's said that the air here is the freshest in Romania. Let's go hiking and find out, shall we?
Visit Rimetea village
The nearby village of Rimetea where ethnic Hungarians live is known for its well preserved village life. In the background there's the Szekler's Stone which creates a magnificent view of the area. We can go for a quick walk in the village if you want and have a traditional lunch here.
[no extra price, but time will be shorter]
Alba Iulia Citadel
On our way to Turda Salt Mine we can do a quick guided tour of Alba Iulia Citadel. This fortress from Roman times was used as a military garrison, seat of power and cultural centre in medieval times. In 1918 this is where the Great Union of Romania was proclaimed and since then it has been the 'spiritual' capital of our country.
