What you need to know

This is a private trip starting from the village of Breb. Pick-up and drop off from nearby villages available on request.
Distance covered on the bike up to 40 km. Positive level difference up to 500 M. Max duration: 7 hours. Terrain: Gravel, Dirt, Tarmac.
Included: bike rental, helmets, delicious traditional meal at a local farm, entrance fees.
I have very nice bikes for all sizes, serviced regularly. When booking please specify height + weight for each person
The bike route can be customised based on your interests and bike experience. A good physical condition is needed, but you don't have to be an experienced biker.

Activity available between May to November.
Please bring confortable chlotes and shoes.

Bike to a Wooden Church

The first part of the trip is undoubtedly the easiest, as we leave the village of Breb behind and descend towards Desești village, known for its impressive UNESCO wooden church. We pass through the village of Mara and walk on the other side of the valley, on a beautiful gravel road, a former Austrian Empire railway.

A sip of brandy and delicious traditional meal

After the visit, it's time for a delicious meal made with home grown products and, of course, some local plum brandy called 'horinca' :). We could also cool our feet in the nearby mountain river, before the adventure continues.

As we continue trough gravel roads towards the salty lakes in Ocna Sugatag, bucolic landscapes and panoramic views reveal before our eyes. The Rooster comb, a former vulcano, Zacarpathia on the Ukrainian side, or the rolling hills filled with haystacks all around.

If you love biking and traveling - you know what I mean! I don't think there's a better way to explore the beautiful region of Maramures. We'll take as many breaks as we need for hidration, pictures or to rest.
